"life is meant to be colourful"

Hanna: New Fabrics and Beach

Vof vof dear friends! I hope your year has started great … mine did! Just before the Christmas I received new fabrics!

I couldn’t believe my luck when I read late in the evening already almost sleeping from the IG that I won fantastic bag of stripes and selvages!

Stephanie from ‘Spontaneous Threads’ shared most generously many bags of selvages and scraps! If you like, read her post HERE.  She had several different choises and I wished to win jelly roll stripes because I haven’t used much stripes… and I won, juppiiii!

Of course I forgot to take photo of the parcel because I was so busy to see them all … and they are not all on the wall, yet!

Look the selvages filled my ironing board … I have big plans for these!

But now I take you to the beach …

Oh boy it was so windy yesterday! And I hadn’t camera with me so these are with phone. Look how my ears fly!

Life guard was not there … now one was … taverna was empty … only me on the empty beautiful beach …

I think I go there again today! But now back to fabrics …

That orange at the edge spoke to me and I thought to make something little before I make any decisions about bigger project … how I rotate this … I don’t find it in this new way … I want to write with the old style …

(now I managed to rotate the photo, but if you know how I can stay with the old style, let me know)

The best drink or what you think?!

orange juice

Thank you so much Stephanie! I’m so happy for these fabrics! Stephanie makes very inspiring and improvising quilts! I picked you one example HERE with her cute helper! Visit her in Instagram, too.

My orange juice glass is part of the #quilty365 project. I have done few mugs, but I’m really not sure if this is ‘me’. I like them but I’m not excited  and I want to be excited when I look my design wall. These are fun to make but then what? When I look what others have made, mostly I’m excited about Karen’s project, she uses batiks.  Perhaps I should try for the first time batiks. I’m linking my update to Audrey’s January linkup.

I wonder what I shall make with the stripes … that I saw in Pinterest … or perhaps the one in Instagram … maybe I go with the first fun idea that came to my mind … I think I have to start that to find again enthusiasm for quilting …

But first I shall go for a walk! It’s +22C  and sun is shining!

Thank you for reading my post and for your lovely comments! Thank you also for following us to our new address!

  1. You lucky girl, Hanna! Those are such pretty scraps. Love your glasses of juice. What a great idea!

  2. oh the beach looks so gorgeous! And your sweet sweet dog … just love to see pics of both of them. You have a lot of beautiful color going into the new year – I cannot wait to see what you create!

  3. Reblogged this on Nero's Post and Patch and commented:

    Welcome to the new address!

  4. Congrats on your win. Love the beach pictures. Great looking glass of orange juice. What will you make with all those selvages?

Hyvaa viikonlopun alkua! x Teje

  6. Nero, I’m so glad you took a relaxing walk on the beach–and smelled all those good smells. You really needed a break from all that beautiful fabric. I’m sure you’ll come up with some great ideas for it–you and Teje always do!

  7. Onnittelut! Kaikkein parhaita onkin tuollaiset voitot joissa on vaikka mitä pieniä yllätksiä. Mukit ja mehulasit on upeita! 365 mukia on aika paljon. Hanna, nauti rannasta ja lämmöstä, meillä on pakkasta saman verran. Tuliskohan sinulle täällä kylmä, vaikkakin sinulla on hieno karvatakki? Pienillä koirilla näyttää olevan toppatakit ja kengät jalassa.

    • Kiitos Marle!

  8. Nero, I’m so glad you took a relaxing walk on the beach smelling all those good smells. I think you just needed a break from all the fabric ideas running through your handsome head. You and Teje will think of something beautiful–you always do 🙂

  9. Boy, that wind was really making your ears fly, Hanna. We love walking on the beach too. It has to be really cold though to have it all to ourselves. Mom really likes precuts. Makes life easier for her she says. You’ll have lots of fun with your re “stuffs”. Hugs from the pack. Lady Caroline

    • Thank you Lady Caroline! Today the wind was even stronger and freezing + plus lots of rain, so I didn’t go to the beach. We got the sewing machine back from the service so soon it will run again! Hugs !x Hanna
