Bunny pattern is from ‘Quiet Play’ by Kristy. Tip to use wonder clips works great but I can’t remember who showed it, sorry.

Happy with my new labels which are small and simple in grey colour to go with all the colours.

There are two big pockets inside and the closing of the bag is with magnetic. Forgot to take photo of that. Circle applique covers the magnetics outside.

Near to us is a big church and I escaped with Nero at Saturday night. Nero is really scared of all the noise there is from the Easter celebration and I was happy to spend with him very quiet and peaceful time in Maherida. If you are looking for a place to relax, to enjoy the beautiful Cretan nature, to be few minutes walk from the beach, have a look on Maherida Apartments we rent for holidays.

In summer there is a snackbar/cafeteria and sunbeds with umbrellas. At the end of the beach (behind me) is one taverna and in the near area there are few more tavernas.

You find more photos and info from the Maherida’s site. I add there now and then new photos from ‘my view’ and from ‘my way’. I’m always happy to answer if you have any questions.

Star Zipper Pouches

Hi dear friends! Colourful scraps make most fun stars! Bright Kona solids framed with white cotton and dark Essex linen = Stars pop out!

big star pouch

On the other side there is improvised log gabin.

big zipper pouch

This is a big pouch and perfect to be a project bag, travelling pouch etc.

When you make something fun it’s hard to stay in one. Here the centre is more simple. If you like to see how I made the star for the first pouch, click HERE.

Wow, what a star!

star quilt block

I quilted some lines by machine and then stitched colours on the patchwork centres.

Zipper has leather cord and beads. For the end of the zipper I used hexagons.

This second star pouch is medium size. Again good for knitting and sewing projects or makeups.

Lining has stripes and the pouch has binding.

Medium size pouch is in my etsy shop. Big pouch flew already to new home.

Lately I have made many bags and pouches and I’m busy to finish some custom orders, because our special guest, ‘Paris’ will be soon here! Then it’s all day playing!

I want to thank you for nominating and voting my ‘After the Storm’ quilt! I’m so happy and honoured to have this quilt in 20 viewer’s choise quilts at ‘Blogger’s Quilt Festival’! Voting is now over and you can see all the winners here.

Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments!

Phone case

Hi! Good to see you! I hope you spent wonderful 1st of May! We celebrated at the same time also Easter here in Greece. Just before summer season started, I got a new phone and of course it needed new case.

phone case and bag

I really like my ‘Kimberly Sac’ bag so I used the same Marimekko’s Ailakki fabric. Sets are always nice. I cut piece of my favourite part from the fabric.

Ailakki from Marimekko

This was a good time to do the straight line stitching by machine, which I really enjoy seeing in your projects.

phone case

No need for pattern to make this. Just use your phone for measuring and add enough extra space so it’s easy to get the phone out …I  tried my old case and it was so tight that I lost the sound from my phone?! I couldn’t find any where to set the sound and finally a friend helped and said that it should be on the side of the phone!

phone case

For the closing I chose to use magnet. The closing cover and the loop are in the seam.  I left open the bottom seam in the lining and from there I turned the case and then sew the last seam.

At the moment I have too many phones … and still I don’t want to leave totally my older phone, the Samsung because Instagram is there more versatile. So I feel that there is an other phone case on the list.

There are some fun things in my sewing list and I hope to show you more soon.  What’s’ up ladies?!

If you need a little bit colour energy, it comes here!

Now thread and needle are calling me, so thank you very much for your visit and lovely comments! Hope to see you soon!

“Kimberly Sac” new bag

Hello friends! Long time I wanted to make a new bag and last week I saw just what I needed: ‘Kimberly Sac’.

Kimberly Sac bag

Beautiful, simple, practical and easy to make! I had to decide if I make patchwork or use whole fabric. Somehow this Marimekko’s fabric felt perfect choice. It’s cotton, firm but not canvas and great for a bag like this.

Ailakki by Marimekko

I took the size from my ‘Favourite Bag’ (tutorial), because it has really been my favourite. I picked bright blue fabric for details, found metal D-rings for the strap and big button for the closing. Finally the red fabric was left out.

bag project

I quilted the panels and made the strap. For the strap I cut 2.5″ strip from the blue and 2 1/4″ strip from the main fabric. I fold them half to get the line in the middle and then I fold both sides towards that line. Like that the blue shows just a little bit from the edges. At the ends I turn the main fabric inside the blue fabric so they are nicely finished and don’t need double folding.

Little detail to finish the strap….button…and voila!

Kimberly Sac

I made the lining from light colour fabric to find my things, but add piece of blue to peep out.

Kimberly Sac bag

I know this is going to be my new favourite bag! I have used it already and it’s very comfy! I thought perhaps it’s very deep to find things but it’s not. And if I need more space I can put there knitted jacket (like yesterday when I felt too hot), quilt magazines, perhaps even a small quilt project!  Nero shows you the size…

If you like to make your very own ‘Kimberly Sac’, look this post at Fat Quarter Shop’s blog. You can find there the pattern and to see the great video how to make your bag.

My inspiration came first from Leanne, who’s Kimberly Sac was the first one I saw. I have to say that now I’m really looking for to make this same bag with scraps!
